The Maine Examiner has been covering a local Maine race for Lewiston mayor.  They’ve broken a number of stories, including this one, where a leaked email from the Democratic candidate’s campaign has the Democratic candidate complaining that he met some racists while out canvassing for votes.

So, a question: who runs the Maine Examiner? Is it based out of any particular town?Does it have a history as a reporting source? Transparency as to funding?

When you have the answers to these questions, also think about how we should view information from the site. If the information is true, does it matter who runs it?
